Taipei, Taiwan, April 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — AMD today announced that its next-generation AMD EPYC™ processors, codenamed “Venice,” are the industry’s first high-performance computing (HPC) products tape-out and powered by Taiwan Integrated Circuit Manufacturing Corporation (TSMC)’s advanced 2nm (N2) process technology. This demonstrates the strong partnership between AMD and TSMC in the semiconductor manufacturing space, jointly optimizing the new design architecture and leading process technology, and represents a significant progress in the execution of AMD’s data center CPU product blueprint, which is expected to be launched next year as scheduled. AMD also announced that its 5th Gen AMD EPYC™ CPU products have been successfully enabled and validated at TSMC’s new fab in Arizona.

“TSMC has been an important partner of AMD for many years, and our deep collaboration with its R&D and manufacturing teams has enabled AMD to continue to deliver industry-leading products that push the boundaries of high-performance computing,” said Dr. Lisa Su, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AMD. “As the first HPC customer for TSMC’s N2 process and TSMC’s Fab 21 in Arizona, we are a testament to how we work closely together to drive innovation and deliver advanced technologies that will power the future of computing.”

“We are honored to be the first AMD customer to use TSMC’s advanced 2nm process technology and to manufacture HPC at our Arizona fab,” said Dr. Zhejia Wei, Chairman and President of TSMC. “Together, we are driving significant technology expansion to bring better performance, power efficiency, and yield to high-performance chips.” We look forward to continuing to work closely with AMD to usher in the next generation of computing.”
